Glenwood Band
Boosters
Glenwood Band members
will be selling pizzas as a fundraiser. The money will be used to
support their trip to Walt Disney World in Florida in order to march
in a parade. Students will be taking orders from January 6th through
the 20th. Pizzas will be delivered on January 31st and all
payments are due on February 9th.

Sun-Times Ranks Glenwood High School 39th in State
The Chicago
Sun-Times recently released its annual rankings
of top public Illinois high schools, and Glenwood High School
ranked 39th in the state based on 2008 PSAE scores.
According to its website, The Chicago Sun-Times’ annual school
rankings are based on average scores on 2008 state reading and math
tests, not the percent passing state standards. The Sun-Times uses a
well-known statistical method called standardizing to analyze the
“scale scores’’ of public school third- through eighth-graders
who took the Illinois Standards Achievement Tests and high school
juniors who took the Prairie State Achievement Exam this past spring.
